Privacy Policy

Mankatha ("we", "our", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what limited, anonymous data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We do not ask you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any directly-identifying personal data.

We do collect the following anonymous information automatically when you use the app:

• Anonymous device identifier: a random UUID generated on first launch and stored locally on your device. Used only to remember your settings and premium-subscription status across sessions.
• System language and timezone: to display the correct translation (Tamil, English, German, or French).
• Device model and OS version: for crash diagnostics and compatibility checks.
• Screen dimensions: to optimize layout for your device.
• Approximate country (from IP address): looked up once via a third-party geolocation service. Your IP address itself is not stored.
• Gameplay analytics: aggregated event counts (e.g. how many rounds of Drohi were played) to improve the games. Never linked to any personal identity.
• Subscription receipts: if you purchase Mankatha PRO, Apple or Google sends us a receipt token (no payment-card data). We store this token to verify your subscription is active.

2. How We Use This Data

• To provide and personalize the app (language, theme, premium-status).
• To validate in-app subscription purchases with Apple / Google.
• To monitor app stability and improve game balance through aggregated analytics.
• To enforce refund and cancellation policies (server-to-server notifications from Apple).

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or third-party marketers.

3. Third-Party Services

The following services receive minimal data on our behalf, each with their own privacy policies:

• Apple App Store / Google Play: processes payment for Mankatha PRO subscriptions. We never see your payment details.
• Supabase (database hosting): stores anonymous profiles and entitlement records.
• ip-api.com: one-time country lookup on first launch. Your IP is sent to them but not retained.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Anonymous device records are kept as long as the device uses the app. If you delete the app, the local UUID is destroyed and the anonymous server-side record becomes inactive after 12 months of inactivity.

If you wish to request manual deletion of all anonymous records linked to your device, email us at support@mankatha.app with your anonymous device ID (visible in Settings → About).

5. Children's Privacy

Mankatha is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Although we collect no directly-identifying data, you still have the right to:

• Request access to the anonymous record linked to your device.
• Request deletion of that record.
• Opt out of analytics (Settings → Privacy → Analytics off).

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS using industry-standard TLS encryption. Our backend uses Supabase row-level security and is hosted in EU-region data centers.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
